Welcome to the Hambo Stamps Blog Hop!

You may have noticed that I’ve been hooked on Hambo lately. I just love their cute stamps and funny sayings. When I was doing their Hambo Hoedown Challenge a couple of weeks ago, they were advertising a customer blog hop with the theme “Hamming It Up At the Movies”. I love blog hops and decided to challenge myself by signing up for this one. It’s not often I get to be a contributor. So, without much further adieu…

Welcome to “Hamming It Up At the Movies” sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict movie titles! It might be our favorite movie, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Libby’s blog, then you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning, at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

Speaking of prizes, a prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all the blogs along the way, so don’t forget to leave me and the other participants a little word love along the way. In addition, I could be eligible for a prize, as one blog participant whose movie-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way will also be awarded a prize. How much fun is that!?!?! The winners will be announced on the Hoedown blog, as well as on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, May 25.

When I signed up for the blog, I struggled to find something movie related that might (hopefully) “wow” all you happy blog hoppers. Finally, inspiration hit and I’m pretty happy with this project! I present to you, my Hammin’ It Up at the Movies Popcorn Bucket, featuring a Jim Carrey movie theme. And, because movies are best enjoyed with a friend, I made two of them.

The first side of my popcorn buckets features Wee Henrietta Popcorn and her scrumptious bucket of butter popcorn. Like me, Henrietta’s ready for the movie marathon.

First movie, an old Jim Carrey classic, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Hambo has two stamps in their digital selection that helped me bring Ace Ventura: Pet Detective to life. First, was the stamp “Spy“, which made the perfect Ace, lurking around looking for those lost pets. And, since Ace is useless without a pet to detect, I also added a couple of Wee Doggies to keep him hunting.

I quickly want to mention that “Spy” comes with three sentiments for a mere $3.50. I used my editing program to separate the sentiments from the Spy for the purpose of this card.

Henrietta’s still got popcorn left at the end of Ace Ventura, so we pop in “The Truman Show”. I love “The Truman Show”!! In this reality show day and age, is the concept that far fetched? I hope so!!! One of my favorite “The Truman Show” scenes is at the end of the movie where Truman is trying to sail away from everyone. Hambo Stamps’ “Boat” made a perfect Truman. Doesn’t he look happy knowing freedom is just a short ways away?

Henrietta wouldn’t let me end our movie marathon without watching Man On The Moon (we did have to refill the popcorn by this time). As you can see, my representation of this movie title is a bit more literal with the stamp “Wee Henry Moon“. See Andy/Henry’s cute pink slippers?

I know this was a long post, but I’m so happy with the way this project turned out and so glad to share it with you. It was a lot of work to do a popcorn bucket template from scratch, design four sides and then repeat the process a second time. But I’m really happy with the result!

Now leave me some comment love so you can be eligible for the prize and then dance on over to Leslie’s blog, The Crooked Stamper, to check out her awesome movie scene! Take some popcorn along, if you want. ;0

Thanks for visiting. Have a good day, and if I don’t see ya, good evening and good night!

Here’s a few more pictures, just in case (like me) you didn’t quite get enough.

  1. Blown. Away. Totally speechless over your creative genius!!! Popcorn box is brilliant, but each side a different movie is over the top! Pet Detective is my personal fave! Awesome!

  2. That is insanely adorable! Such a fantastic idea–I hope you will make that template available somewhere. It would make a cute gift “bag” with DVDs and microwave popcorn packs. It would be great for charity auctions that way too. Brilliant.
