Birthday Cuties!

Back to the card kits again! Hopefully you don’t get too bored with these, because they’ll likely fill my blog for at least the next month or so. These card kits accumulated over years and since renovating my craft room it becomes oh so apparently that I REALLY need to clean them out and make room for new things and projects.

I’ve slowly been spending my nights coloring images, then cutting shapes. Now I go through them and start to put cards together with the pieces.

This kit had some great images in it, perfect for those birthday occasions. So, of course I started with some sketches. This first one used the sketch from Handstamped Sentiments (#380). This image was a bit bigger than I first estimated, but I finally got fit it in! The sentiment also posed a problem – persistent smudging! I think I re-stamped it four times.

Next up was the Tuesday Morning Sketches (#640). This one I had to adjust slightly for that sentiment, but it gave me a great way to us the papers that I had in the kit.

My challenge search then came to the CAS Colours and Sketches blog, which had a color challenge paired with it. The colors were Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. Unfortunately, I didn’t figure out the “CAS” part of the challenge until after I had added several layers, embellishments and papers…that’s okay, I love the card anyway.

This last card I went off-roading. I couldn’t find a sketch that I liked for the papers and card kit elements I had left! And, sometimes those few moments of prompted creativity give you ideas for new projects. So, that’s what I did!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. More really cute images! I love that you’re going back and working your kits – I love to create alternates to our kits, too! Fun fresh colors, and looks great in our sketch! Thanks so much for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
