Vacation Mini Album with Riley & Company

Hello All!! The Riley & Company blog feature a regular Designer Highlight, rotating between the talented members of the Riley & Company Design Team.

Well, it’s my turn to share a Designer Highlight and I chose to make this adorable mini album.

I did a class in March at one of my local scrapbook stores for this album design. The pages flip out, creating extra vertical pop-up space. I thought the design was pretty cool, but I also loved the opportunity to pull out my favorite Rileys and decorate away! The front cover features Travel Trunk Riley.

When you open that front cover, you find this. The green pages are the left and right side of the “album”, while the orange and patterned pieces are the vertical pop-out. On this page, I also included a flip up, which features Balloons Riley.

The Riley stamp on the left page is Window Riley, while various stamps in the Travel Sticker Stamps set.

Page 2 features Hammock Riley (one of my very first purchases!) and more travel stickers.

The right side flips out this time and Floating Riley is hiding underneath.

To better envision how this album is put together, here it is expanded. You can see page 1 on the left and page 2 on the right…see that hinge hiding underneath? Turn the book around and you’ll find page 3.

Page 3 is the backside of the book and operates the same way. Here I’ve included BBQ Riley and Under the Tree Riley. No flip up or outs here, but I have left some un-adhered space under the images so that I can slide a card or insert underneath.

Hope you enjoyed my project today! Check out the Riley and Company blog for more fun and find all these adorable moose in the store.

Thanks for stopping by!

With this line, you’ll find some funny sentiments similar to the Funny Bones, but you’ll also find versatile and inspiring words.

I started this week with a scrapbook page featuring some of the new Inspirations stamps. So, that’s how I’ll finish the week off too. This new Inspirations sentiment was perfect for these pictures we took last fall.

Ninja Calendar

I got issued a crafty challenge a number of months ago. “Can I have a ninja calendar?”.

Let me tell you, those ninja’s are GOOD at being stealthy because ninja stamps are HARD to find. I finally found one set, neglected to order it right away and then the company closed and sold out of the set before I knew.

However, I lucked out and thanks to a swap on SCS, someone pointed me in the direction of Bugaboo Stamps and their seven ninja images. Yay!

Now, here`s the trick…finding the perfect ninja paper…do I make it all in black? That seems really boring!!

I was at one of my favorite scrapbook stores a few weeks ago and they tend to carry lots of clearance merchandise. What did I spy??? It’s non other than four patterns from the Graphic 45 Bird Song collection, an oriental themed collection. PERFECT!!! I scooped those babies up!

Here’s three of the six panels.

I did them each double sided, matching two patterned backgrounds to my 6×6 solid color card stock piece. Here is the opposite side of the yellow cardstock piece. I think this is one of my favorites!

I decided all black ninja’s would be too boring, so I colored them up and think they look pretty darn cute!

My ninja challenger was pretty happy with the finished project. And now, I want a ninja calendar of my own!

Mini Albums

I wanted to post a couple of mini albums I finally finished. I like making these, but I’m not very good at making empty albums and filling them with things. I prefer to have a “person” in mind, or else my own pictures in mind and make the album to coordinate with the pictures I want to use.

In this case, I wanted to make an album for the daughter of one of my co-workers. I can’t remember how this came about, but I thought she’d like it. She has two kids, so I asked whether her son would like one too. The result is these two albums. One, a music theme. The other an outdoor/water/beach theme.

I’ll take them both to her tomorrow, just in time for Christmas and hope that her kids enjoy them.

This is the front of the beach/water one. I used the Fancy Pants Beach Bum 6×6 pad. Loved this collection so much it’s hard to not go out and find another one. But, I have so many papers I love I know I’ll find others so I’m resisting.

Here’s one of the inside pages:

And here is the front of the music themed one.

Here are a few inside pages.

Now, what’s next?!?

Baby Book

I wanted to post a baby book I finished at the beginning of the month. It was a gift for a family member and their new baby that was born back in April. I made a similar girly one last September and they’re so nice, I decided to make another.

Here is the front page for this one. It has space to put a “just born!” picture on it.

Here is a sample of one of the two page layouts. One page for each month in the first year. Room for a 4×6 photo and a smaller photo.

I had one for Claire and I did a picture of her “near” her month birthday on the larger page and then a snapshot from that month in the smaller box. I used the cricut for the little decorations and stars.

Here’s another sample page.

Mini Album

I wanted very quickly to share with you a mini album I finished recently. One of my co-workers at work left recently and so I made her this as a good-bye gift.

Here is the front:

First time using Stickles…FUN!!! And here are some inside pages:

My co-worker moved back “home” to be closer to her two children. She hadn’t seen them in quite awhile, so I was hoping this would be a beautiful book to capture some of their reunion together. I hope she enjoys it!
