Dueling Darlings – October

Gosh, oh gosh! My October DDD card is woefully late! But, catch up I must. I adore this creative group and can hardly wait until the next months’ kit shows up!

The kit for this month was chosen by Tami and it was a wonderfully colorful Halloween theme! What fun!

Isn’t this image adorable? It’s called Delightfully Spooky from Red Rubber Designs.

Thanks for swinging by and I’ll see you next month for the newest DDD kit!

Dueling Darlings – September

Hello, welcome to another Dueling Darlings post. This month’s kit was sent by Terry S. and the theme she and Terry A. selected was in honour of Milton Hershey’s birthday on September 13th. Chocolate!!

I had two images to work with and chose Stampabilities “Mouseful of Fudge”. I loved the purple papers in this kit and tried to get as many as I could into this card!

I can’t wait to see what October brings! See you a month from now.

Dueling Darlings – August

Time for another DDD challenge! My card is a few days late this month. Mail sometimes doesn’t work it’s way to me quite as speedy as we hope and I didn’t receive my kit in time. Then, there was this whole thing called vacation that left me, somehow, with even less time to craft than when I was working! But, much, MUCH more family fun time!!

Anyway, Carol sent this kit. She and her partner in crime came up with the theme of “Catch of the Day”.

My card uses the Whipper Snapper image “Fisherman”. Carol made these adorable bobber embellishments that I HAD to use!!

This sketch is from the August 15, 2017 Feeling Sketchy challenge (#175).

Thanks for swinging by and I’ll see you next month for the newest DDD kit!

Dueling Darlings – July

It’s the 15th again!! Time for another DDD challenge.

This month is extra, extra special because the kit this month came from Paola and…..ME!! Yes, we were the hosts this month and so we got our brilliant Canadian minds together and came up with a mouthful for these teams to create with.

Our theme is Midsummer’s Night Dream, inspired by the Shakespeare play. I haven’t seen Paola’s kit selections, but I selected this Cutie Butterfly (eh, fairy) image from CC Designs and added it to some nature themed papers.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find some “night” papers, so we’ll just pretend that Shakespeare had a small typo and meant to make it a Midsummer’s Day Dream.

One additional item that Paola and I included was a request to include a maple leaf somewhere, in honor of the Canadian hosts and Canada’s 150th year of confederation on July 1st.

My card was created using the Stamps & Fun challenge (SFC305).

Thanks for swinging by and I’ll see you next month for the newest DDD kit!

Dueling Darlings – June

It’s the 15th again!! Time for another DDD challenge.

This month my kit came from Barb and the theme of this months’ kit was Roses. There were two image choices in my kit and I chose this one, which is Delicate Rose Stems by Hero Arts.

I debated adding a sentiment and then decided to leave it just the way it was, ready to suit any number of occasions!

Now, I’m off to visit my friends cards. See you in July when I get to see what everyone did with my kit and the theme Paola and I created. Exciting!

Dueling Darlings – May

I adore the 15th of the month. It’s so exciting! That’s because it’s the day I get to see what my fellow Divas did with their kit…and I get to find out what those cheeky Dazzlers worked with. Yes, I called them cheeky! Why?? No clue. Seemed like something I’d call a duel opponent (say it with a slight Antonio Banderas Zorro accent and you’ll see what I mean).

But back to the point. Today is post day. This month, my card kit came from Judy. Judy sent a great floral theme kit, based on the theme “April Showers Bring May Flowers”.

I used the Sarah Kay image and colored her up with pencils. This is unusual for me, but I’m quite happy with how it turned out. I was going to use one of the sentiments, but it wouldn’t quite fit (too big, too long, etc), so I bypassed it this time. Guess I could have thought out the layout better, but I like how this turned out! I believe all these papers came from the Crate Paper, Maggie Homes “Bloom” paper pad.

Now, I’m off to visit my friends cards. See you in June!

Dueling Darlings – April

Happy April!! It’s the 15th, which means time for another Dueling Darling post. Kelly sent out the Diva kits this month and she had fun with this fun, sunshiney kit theme!

I love this image she selected from CC Designs and I love her happy colorful papers too!!

Kelly also wanted us to make sure we put the sentiment on our card (that was her little challenge), so I used the Square Word Bubbles from Riley & Company.

Today’s sketch comes from Mojo Monday (#492).

Have a great Easter everyone!
