I adore the 15th of the month. It’s so exciting! That’s because it’s the day I get to see what my fellow Divas did with their kit…and I get to find out what those cheeky Dazzlers worked with. Yes, I called them cheeky! Why?? No clue. Seemed like something I’d call a duel opponent (say it with a slight Antonio Banderas Zorro accent and you’ll see what I mean).
But back to the point. Today is post day. This month, my card kit came from Judy. Judy sent a great floral theme kit, based on the theme “April Showers Bring May Flowers”.
I used the Sarah Kay image and colored her up with pencils. This is unusual for me, but I’m quite happy with how it turned out. I was going to use one of the sentiments, but it wouldn’t quite fit (too big, too long, etc), so I bypassed it this time. Guess I could have thought out the layout better, but I like how this turned out! I believe all these papers came from the Crate Paper, Maggie Homes “Bloom” paper pad.
Sketch credit to very old Mojo Sketch (possibly).
Now, I’m off to visit my friends cards. See you in June!
Happy April!! It’s the 15th, which means time for another Dueling Darling post. Kelly sent out the Diva kits this month and she had fun with this fun, sunshiney kit theme!
I love this image she selected from CC Designs and I love her happy colorful papers too!!
Kelly also wanted us to make sure we put the sentiment on our card (that was her little challenge), so I used the Square Word Bubbles from Riley & Company.
Today’s sketch comes from Mojo Monday (#492).
Have a great Easter everyone!
I can’t believe how fast 2017 is going by. Here I am with my third post with the Dueling Darlings, a group I joined in January.
LauraJean sent out the Team Diva kits this month. Together with Darlene they came up with the theme of “Would You Like to Ride in My Balloon?”. Great theme!
I’m working with a set from My Favorite Things called Up, Up and Away. New for me is the colored pencils. I was working on another image, so decided to just keep on coloring. Not sure this will convince me to put down my markers, but at least it’s a nice change.
This creation happens to be made with the sketch over at Feeling Sketchy.
See you in April. Scheduled post date happens to be my birthday, so we’ll just have to party together.
Hello, hello! I’m back with another post with the Dueling Darlings, Team Diva!
This months kit was sent to me by Suzy and it was a great Valentine kit. The image in my kit this month is a Stampin’ Up image from the “Have a Heart” set.
I decided to do a funky fold on this one. Not exactly sure what it’s called, but it was difficult to photo!! You get the idea, though.
And, might as well pop this pretty into a few challenges.
Now I’m off to see what my other Divas have created and then to check out the Darling’s image and creations. See you next month!
I am super excited, ecstatic, thrilled and positively giddy to join this cool group for 2017!
The Dueling Darlings have been creating on SplitCoast Stampers for a number of years. They are a group of friends who divided themselves into two groups to “duel” it out every month. Group A or B wasn’t cool, so they became the Divas and the Dazzlers. Every month, one person from each team works together to send card kits and a challenge out to the other members of the team. Despite being a duel, there is no “loser” in this game…we all get to create and celebrate our differences (and similarities).
I got to join Team Diva!
Tami and Terry L started us out this year. They chose not to create a specific challenge, but just sent a Valentine’s themed kit. It sure got me in the mood to “love” this challenge – and I got to work with one of my favorite stamp companies. Here is my creation:
This kit had so many cool elements to work with. Normally, I shy away from them, but there were so many cool things! I used an old Basic Grey sketch as my inspiration for this creation.
I’m thankful to the Dueling Darlings for letting me play along this year. All the Divas and Dazzler are linked on my right sidebar and you can take a tour on the 15th of every month to see what they’ve created.
See you again soon, lovelies!
