TCCCB – Humourous

Hello, welcome to the February 1st challenge with The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog!

Twice a month we roll out fantastic challenges for your to play along with and we work with great sponsors so you get to see art from a wide variety of talented artists.

Our challenge theme this fortnight is Humourous. So, grab your puns, jokes and wise crack advice and let’s see ’em!

The sponsor I’m working with this challenge is My Stitch Back in Twine. I had the opportunity to play with Bite Me Lips.  This was great because it’s an image I wouldn’t normally pick, but I got to try some new techniques and playing with my gel pen for highlights. It turned out quite well!

To add the funny, I also paired it with a Riley and Company sentiment, which is quite perfect for this image!

TCCCB – Embossing

Hello, welcome to the December 1st challenge with The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog!

Twice a month we roll out fantastic challenges for your to play along with and we work with great sponsors so you get to see art from a wide variety of talented artists.

Our challenge this fortnight is Embossing. Wet or dry, it’s your choice! Personally, I’m a fan of dry embossing, but I always admire those fantastic crafters that can work miracles with embossing powder.

The sponsor for this challenge that I get to play with is Rick St. Denis and I’ve chosen his adorable kitten image to play with!

Here is my creation for this challenge. As you can see, I’ve gone with dry embossing on the back background panel, an old Stampin’ Up embossing folder that remains one of my favorites!

Sketch on this card was from this week’s Paper Players sketch (#372). And, since it’s that time of year, I’m also entering this in a couple of Christmas challenges, over at the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge and The Crafty Addicts Anything Goes/Christmas challenge.

TCCCB – For the Boys

Hello, welcome to the September 1st challenge with The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog!

Twice a month we roll out fantastic challenges for your to play along with and we work with great sponsors so you get to see art from a wide variety of talented artists.

Our challenge this fortnight is For the Boys. I’m working with the products over at Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles, which are fabulous for your digital projects, or to print and use for your “paper” projects.

Here is my creation for this challenge. I decided to go with the blues and forego an image on this one. The papers from Decosse’s printed wonderfully on my printer and were great to work with! The was fairly easy to cut out and then I layered the sentiment on the top.

This was a Try Stamping on Tuesday sketch. Though I didn’t get to enter it this time, I wanted to provide credit.

Our challenge this fortnight is Black, White and One Other Color. Boy, did I have fun with this! I had a great image to work with from Mari’s Digi, I Love Art.

TCCCB – More than One Fold

Hello, welcome to the August 1st challenge with The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog!

Twice a month we roll out fantastic challenges for your to play along with and we work with great sponsors so you get to see art from a wide variety of talented artists.

Our challenge this fortnight is More Than One Fold. This can be as simple or complicated as you wish, just give it more than one fold!

Our sponsor this challenge is an favorite, Bugaboo Stamps. I used this beautiful tulip floral image and created a gate fold card. The main image and the yellow frame are attached to opposite sides, so they sort of puzzle together.

Here I have the card slightly opened, so you can see how the frame is attached on the right and the image on the left.

TCCCB – Steampunk

Hello, welcome to the mid-month challenge with The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog!

Twice a month we roll out fantastic challenges for your to play along with and we work with great sponsors so you get to see art from a wide variety of talented artists.

Our challenge this fortnight is Steampunk. Normally, this isn’t a style I am drawn to, but it was kinda of fun to put this challenge together! Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

We do have three sponsors this May 15th challenge, but the one that I get to play with is Digi Stamp 4 Joy. The image selection this time is Red Robin Applique Bird.

I’ve added stamps from my Prickley Pear gears die and stamp set, since they fit this theme nicely and add great embellishments.

This creation uses the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#116), included below. I’m also entering this in the following additional challenges: A Vintage Journey, July All Squared Up challenge and The Paper Shelter, Punches and/or Dies challenge.
