A question came up on our new Riley & Company Design team…what do you use to color your favorite moose?
The answer varied, so we decided to do a special blog post, available on the Riley & Company blog today, highlighting some of our favorite coloring methods and colors.
Normally, I use my copic markers. I use the E31, E33, E35 combination noted in the Riley and Company FAQ section for the body, but I like dark antlers and hoofs and tend to use E25 or E27 for those.
However, there are a number of us that use this same copic pairing. And while we all color a bit differently, for this special post I went back to my “original” coloring medium of SU inks to provide something a bit different.
I used my blender brushes and SU inks for this one. Riley’s body is done in Crumb Cake with a bit of Soft Suede added. His antlers and hooves are chocolate chip.
Here’s a close up of the moose. For some reason, the blender brush started to rub off some of the paper fibers a bit, so it gave Riley a fuzzy look.
Hop on over to the Riley and Company blog to check out the other samples posted there today. And, if you have a minute, leave us a comment and tell us what you use on your Riley’s.
