I was back onto www.portraitprojectoronto.com tonight to see what new stuff Brian has posted. I love his new picture of “Sean” that he recently posted. It’s a lovely picture.
He’s also started making some posts about about artists he likes to follow. You have to check out his post on Karen Jurick.
Karen’s images of people in everyday scenes (at the gallery, on the beach, riding the bus) look so real. They’re different and unique with a lot of detail. She’s also started a 100 Faces project with a very cool subject – police mug shots from public records. Isn’t that neat? Not only does it add an interesting twist to her portraits, but it makes you wonder the story behind the person – how did they get there? What’s the story of their life? Very interesting.
I think I’ll be adding her blog to my blog roll and going back to visit frequently. I’ve never really appreciated art much in the past, but this artists work really appeals to me.
