Ahhh! I had a great sleep and now I’m ready for more fun. My DH has to work today, so I’m left at home with a few beautiful hours to do whatever I want. My favorite movie to watch when he’s not around has just started (Mamma Mia) and I’m getting the crafty vibe.
Color Challenge #21: Blush Blossom; Ruby Red; Always Artichoke
This looks like it might end up a Christmas card. Be back soon to see what we have for you.
I was right. It’s a cute little Christmas card. I was a bit worried about this color combination because I didn’t have any embellishments or patterned paper in these colors. But this card proves all you need is a few basic supplies to make beautiful cards.
Cardstock: Always Artichoke; Blush Blossom; Ruby Red
Stamps: Take Three (SU)
Ink: Always Artichoke; Ruby Red
Other: Ribbon (Vendor Unknown); Eyelet Border Punch (SU)
Color Combination #22: Pretty in Pink; Pink Passion
This is another combination that I”m going to have to skip. Only my third in the first 22. Unfortunately, I don’t have any Pink Passion. But, I like this color combination so once I’m done “Using it Up” I’m going to have to try a pink/pink combination with the new colors.
Color Combination #23: Elegant Eggplant; Apricot Appeal; Certainly Celery
This looks like it’s going to be an AWESOME combination! I’m looking forward to this.
I had admired a card Tess made the other day while we were doing challenges. It was the brayered card she made for the Curtain Call Color Challenge. I figured that this would be a good combination to try my hand at CASEing her. In process, I wasn’t sure my card would come anywhere near living up to her card, which you can see on her blog, but in the end, I’m happy with it. It’s certainly not as good – I need to work on my brayer technique – but it turned out to be a nice, simple birthday card that I think anyone would be pleased to receive.
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant; Apricot Appeal; Whisper White
Stamps: Watercolor Trio (Stampin Up)
Ink: Wild Wasabi; Certainly Celery; Elegant Eggplant
Other: Ticket Corner Punch
Color Combination #24: Orchid Opulence; Elegant Eggplant; Certainly Celery
Since I’m in the process of drawing inspiration from everyone in my blog group, and I’m a member of that group, I figured I’d CASE myself. I went back into my blog gallery and found this card.It was actually originally a CASE from someone’s gallery on Splitcoast Stampers, but that’s okay.
Interestingly enough, when I went back through my blog to post a link to the card, I discovered that I actually never posted that card on my blog, even though it was in the picture gallery I use for my blog pictures. How on earth did that happen!? So both cards are being posted here for the first time.
Here is the second version of the card, done today, in purple and green.
Cardstock: Certainly Celery; Elegant Eggplant; Orchid Opulence
Stamps: Happy Moments (SU); Birthday Greetings (SU)
Ink: Basic Black; Elegant Eggplant; markers in Orchid Opulence; Elegant Eggplant; Certainly Celery; So Saffron
Other: Rhinestones; Beautiful Wings Embosslits
Color Challenge #25: Ballet Blue; So Saffron
Off to Diane’s blog, titled ScrappingProf. It looks like Diane is just starting her blog, because there wasn’t much posted. This made it difficult me to find just the right card combination to use her cards as influence. However, I found a bit of inspiration in Challenge #25 colors and was able to case her beautiful cards.
Cardstock: Ballet Blue; Whisper White; So Saffron
Stamps: Winged Things (SU)
Ink: So Saffron; Ballet Blue; Versamark
Other: Clear Embossing Powder; Curly Label Punch
And now for a couple of challenges I can’t do…
Color Challenge #26: Tempting Turquoise; Gable Green; Lavender Lace
Color Challenge #27: Handsome Hunter; Taken with Teal; Green Galore
Both Gable Green and Green Galore were from the Bold Brights family, so I’ll have to move on. I reserve the right to still retain the sense of accomplishment of having marked these challenges off my list.
I’m going to pause here and work on a couple of other projects for awhile. I’ll probably be back later.
